  • Tumbali is an Advanced Practice Nurse-Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with a special interest in Critical Care and Cardiology. She began her nursing career in 1991 after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She worked as a staff nurse in the Critical Care units (Coronary Care Unit and Surgical Intensive Care Unit) at Rush University Medical Center for about 10 years. In 1998, she completed the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program at Rush University and spent 15 years working in several areas including the Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Evanston Hospital, Cardiology and Internal Medicine at Central DuPage Hospital (now part of Northwestern Medicine).

    She joined the faculty part-time at Rush University in 2011 and completed her DNP also at Rush University. Her DNP project focused on the Onboarding of Advanced Practice Nurses in a large academic medical center. She is an active member in the Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nurses.
