Chiquia S. Hollings serves as Project Director for the WISHFIT Study with Rush University Medical Center?s Department of Preventive Medicine. The aim of WISHFIT is to develop an intervention for pre-menopausal women that will result in a sustained improvement in physical activity and depression, thus slowing the menopause-related progression of visceral fat. Ms. Hollings has an extensive background in community health education and health promoting behaviors research. A graduate of Saint Xavier University, Ms. Hollings received her Master of Public Health degree in Health Policy and Administration. Prior to joining the Department of Preventive Medicine at Rush, Ms. Hollings worked as Project Manager for the Healthy Foods, Healthy Moves: InForm Chicago project ; a collaborative effort between Community In Schools of Chicago and the Consortium to Lower Obesity in Chicago Children (CLOCC). In her position, Ms. Hollings exclusively managed the implementation of the 5-4-3-2-1 Go!? awareness campaign in schools to promote healthy eating and regular physical activity, and assisted in the planning of a national conference, ?Healthy Foods, Healthy Moves: Delivering the Childhood Obesity Prevention Message in Schools and Communities,? that convened October 2008. Ms. Hollings? professional experience also includes work with Chicago Public Schools? Nutrition Support Services Department, and the Institute for Health Research and Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
