Professional and investigative interests include developing and demonstrating new initiatives in chronic and geriatric care coordination and collaboration. The Virtual Integrated Practice Project has been a major focus of my work over the past nine years. The VIP Project is designed to improve care delivery and coordination in small primary care medical practices by creating "virtual" teams of interdisciplinary health care providers to co-treat patients with chronic conditions.

Other projects include co-directing an interdisciplinary geriatric team training course for 12 years, recently serving as co-investigator for an interdisciplinary project on assessment and treatment of depression in older adults, and developing a standardized national training curriculum for the PACE (Program For All Inclusive Care for the Elderly) national network of sites in conjunction with the National PACE Association. I am a co-instructor for a course on improving writing skills for the Graduate College of Rush University. I am also an adjunct member of the faculty of the Loyola University Chicago Graduate School of Social Work where I teach courses on Health Care Policy and Community Organization. I have authored or coauthored ten publications on research and practice topics related to my work in interdisciplinary teams. I have given presentations on my interdisciplinary team initiatives at a number of professional organizations including the American Society on Aging, the American Medical Informatics Association, The National PACE Association, the Medical Group Management Association, SCAN Health Plan and the Israel Gerontological Society. I have also given talks on the Virtual Integrated Practice Project and related work at several hospitals and universities in Israel and at the University of Manchester in England.
