| Faculty/Staff Description: | |
The research interests of Dr. Napier's laboratory are focused on changes in the adult mammalian brain that alter motivative behaviors, including those associated with drug addiction and its co-morbidity with other mental and neurological diseases. Behavior, pharmacological, electrophysiological and biochemical approaches are used in rodent models of the human brain disease to ascertain neuronal substrates that are altered during the course of these disorders. The work is directed towards developing novel therapeutic targets that can nullify the disease-related brain alterations. |
