Kristin has specialized in the field of nutrition for over 15 years. She received her bachelor's and master's in nutritional science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a master's-prepared, registered, licensed, advanced-level clinical dietitian working in adult nutrition, disease and wellness. She has over five years of experience as an approved item writer and is considered a subject matter expert in gerontological nutrition. Additionally, she is one of only 14 board-certified specialists in gerontological nutrition (CSG) in the state of Illinois. She is a member of the CSG work group that maintains the CSG certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration as well as a member of both the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Illinois Dietetic associations.
She currently enjoys practicing in a variety of outpatient and community settings, and maintains the CBORD nutrition operating system for RUMC. She also has the pleasure of representing the RUMC clinical nutrition department as a guest lecturer for various groups, organizations and national conferences regarding different areas of nutritional topics as well as working with the media regarding nutrition-related issues.
