As an assistant professor in health systems management at Rush University, Mary Katherine has taught courses in health care ethics, professional skills and health care strategic planning and marketing. Additionally, she has received faculty awards for scholarship and community service. An active alumnus, Mary Katherine is a past president of the Rush Health Systems Management Alumni Association Board and a recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award.
Mary Katherine has achieved the highest standard of professional development in the field of health care administration as a board-certified Fellow in Health Care Management by the American College of Health Care Executives.
- The recipient of the Dean’s Award in Biology, Mary Katherine holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Northern Illinois University. A recipient of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Golden Anniversary Alumni Award, Mary Katherine serves on the Advisory Board to the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (marketing committee) and Alumni Association Board (nominating committee).
- Mary Katherine holds a Master of Science degree in health systems management from Rush University, as well as a certificate of graduate study in health care ethics.
- She also holds a certificate of fund raising management from DePaul University and a professional certified marketer credential by the American Marketer Association.
- A past president of Women in Management, Mary Katherine is the recipient of the Chapter Board Member of the Year Award and the National Woman of Achievement Award in the “academia” category.
