Introduction

Our Master of Science (MS) in Health Systems Management program provides professional management training to develop leaders in health care administration.

You will learn how to ensure that organizations have the medical, operational and financial resources to serve health care needs.

We have separate tracks to accommodate different types of learners:

  • Residential Track: Geared toward students with less than five years of experience in health care
  • Executive Track: Geared toward students with five or more years of experience in health care

Program Length and Location

The Residential Track is a 58-credit program that takes place on campus. It takes two years to complete for full-time students and four years to complete for part-time students.

The Executive Track is full-time only (24 months) and requires 52 credits to graduate.

Master of Science (MS) in Health Systems Management Careers

With our extensive faculty and alumni network, you can connect with opportunities across Chicago and the country.

Our graduates have an excellent employment rate — typically, 90% are employed within three months of graduating.

In recent years, about one-half of our graduates accepted positions in hospitals and health systems. Roughly one-third accept jobs with consulting organizations and the remainder go into other health care sectors.

Employment of medical and health services managers is expected to grow 28% through 2031, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. That is much faster than the average for other occupations.

And the median pay is $101,340 per year.
