Greetings and welcome to the Rush University pulmonary and critical care medicine training program website. I encourage you to browse through our site which contains useful and up-to-date information for the fellowship applicant, trainee and faculty member.
Over the past 34 years and in following the vision of Roger C. Bone, MD, the fellowship has produced excellent clinicians practicing and teaching in all areas of clinical pulmonary and critical care medicine throughout the world.
The duration of the pulmonary and critical care fellowship is 36 months. Twenty-four months of rigorous clinical training with the additional twelve months spent on research. Outstanding teaching comes from diverse and energetic educators. The experience in training results in an excellent ABIM board pass rates in addition to an enjoyable experience.
What makes our program stand out from many others is the atmosphere of training we foster. Our attendings consider our fellows colleagues and we function on a first name basis. We create relationships that extend beyond the training years and last throughout life. Our fellows are truly part of a team incorporated in both patient care and in teaching some of the best residents in the country.
In addition to learning medicine in a city rooted in diversity and hospitality, our trainees have time to experience Chicago with its history, culture and cuisine. There is ready access to the beach on hiking trails throughout the Midwest, and the lure of the some of the best professional sports teams in the nation.
Please enjoy our website and email or call with any questions.
