On behalf of the Section of Geriatrics in the Department of Internal Medicine, we would like to welcome you to the geriatric fellowship program at Rush website.
Rush's fellowship in geriatric medicine began in 1986. As a result, it is the oldest fellowship in geriatric medicine in Illinois. Trainees from either an internal medicine or a family medicine residency are accepted into the program. Currently, a one-year fellowship is offered to prepare fellows to take the Certificate of Added Qualification exam in Geriatric Medicine; a two-year experience may be arranged in conjunction with the Palliative Care Program at Rush, the Gait Disorders Unit at UIC or via external funding.
We are committed to providing you with an excellent training opportunity. The geriatrics program continues to grow at a rapid rate. We are sure that you will have ample opportunities to develop your clinical, educational and research skills in geriatrics over the coming year.
