Welcome, and thank you for your interest in the Rush University Medical Center pre-doctoral internship (residency) in clinical psychology. The Department of Behavioral Sciences at Rush offers this one-year, full-time training program that fulfills the predoctoral internship requirement for doctoral programs in clinical psychology.
Applicants apply to one of three tracks in child/adolescent psychology, health psychology, and neuropsychology. Across tracks, interns/residents engage in assessment, testing, and intervention with a wide variety of inpatients and outpatients, and have the opportunity to participate in research projects with faculty.
The program has been continuously accredited by the American Psychological Association for 38 years and has trained over 270 psychologists working in Chicago and throughout the country. The program accepts nine residents each year and is highly competitive.
