We accept applications through ERAS, the Electronic Residency Application Service. Our program is listed as Rush University Medical Center.
A complete application must include:
- Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE)
- Three letters of recommendation. We prefer letters from faculty who have directly supervised your clinical or scholarly work, and suggest 2 letters from psychiatry faculty and 1 letter from medical or surgical faculty.
- Medical school transcript
- USMLE and/or COMLEX transcripts; we prefer the USMLE but will accept either exam.
- Personal statement
Hard copies of residency applications are not accepted.
The American Council on Graduate Medical Education requires that all applicants have "sufficient command of English to permit accurate and unimpeded communication". We accept applications from international medical graduates; the ACGME also requires that these applicants obtain a valid ECFMG certificate.
