The Rush University Prevention Center specializes in integrated treatment of hypertension, lipid disorders, prediabetes/diabetes, and obesity. We also offerprograms before an elective surgery (orthopedic, general surgery, etc.) to optimize weight, blood pressure, lipid and diabetes control.

The Rush University Prevention Center features:

Personalized medicine: Customization of heart disease, stroke and diabetes prevention with decisions and practices being tailored to the individual patient by use of pharmacogenomic and other information. Since The Genomics and Personalized Medicine Act was introduced in the U.S. Congress in 2006 to address scientific barriers, and adverse market pressures, Rush University Prevention Center has been at the forefront of translation of scientific findings to address individual patient needs. A personalized approach identifies early heart disease, lipid and diabetes markers to guide lifestyle changes and to optimize medication therapy.
