Since 1973, Rush University's medical laboratory science (formerly clinical laboratory science) program has been accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences.

In the past four accreditation reviews, Rush University's program received the maximum accreditation of seven years. This is a strong testament to the program's outstanding excellence.

More than 500 students have graduated from Rush's medical technology program.

The SBB certificate program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the American Association of Blood Banks' Committee on Accreditation of Specialist in Blood Bank Technology Schools (AABB/CoA).
