Application Procedures and Deadlines
Admission is granted for the summer quarter of each year, which begins mid-June. Rush University's occupational therapy program participates in the Occupational Therapy Centralized Application Service (OTCAS) https://portal.otcas.org. Please visit the OTCAS website to submit your application.

OTCAS applications open in July for admission into the class beginning the following summer.

Applications must be submitted by December 1. After December 1 OTCAS will close and will no longer accept applications or application materials.

Enrollment is approximately 35 students. Due to the high volume of applicants to the program, we encourage you to submit your application before October 15.

Your application to OTCAS must include two letters of recommendation. The letters of recommendation should be obtained from individuals acquainted with your academic/professional aptitudes and one letter MUST be from an occupational therapy practitioner.

The admissions committee will make decisions regarding the acceptability of the applicant to the program. All application materials will be evaluated. Academic and non-academic factors, including work experience, community service and life experiences will be taken into consideration.

Selected applicants will be required to participate in an on-site visit, which will include a faculty interview. Invitations for on-site visits will be sent during the months of November, December and January.

Notification of acceptance into the program will occur by mid-February.

In addition to completing the OTCAS application, Rush University requires accepted students to complete a Rush University supplemental application. There is no additional fee for the Rush University supplemental application. Additionally, accepted students must successfully pass a criminal background check. Information regarding completion of these activities will be communicated after acceptance into the program.
