A student's life at Rush University is a full life. Academics and clinicals are an integral part of the student's life, but there is also a great deal of time for friends, fun and even service to the community.
In September 2015, five audiology students spent one week in Guatemala volunteering for Fundación Sunrises que Eschuchan. The foundation was established in 2009 by Patricia Castellanos de Muñoz, the only licensed audiologist in Guatemala, to provide detection, diagnosis, and treatment to underprivileged children and adults throughout Guatemala. Alex, Alison, Maddie, Staci, and Stephanie worked with Dr. Castellanos’ team to screen the hearing of more than 1,000 children and adults.
