About Rush University
Standard Cost of Attendance
The standard Cost of Attendance is constructed using the following components:

Other expenses that may be considered
Certain expenses, while not included in the standard Cost of Attendance, may be included based on a student request.  Students wishing to have these expenses included in their cost of attendance should submit a formal letter of appeal to the Office of Student Financial Aid explaining the request.  Documentation for each expense must be included in with the letter of appeal.
  • Unreimbursed medical expenses;
  • Health insurance;
  • Daycare expenses for dependents;
  • Loan fees;
  • A one-time per program allowance for a laptop or tablet; and
  • Up to two round-trip plane tickets per academic year to see family

Tuition and fees
Tuition and fees are published annually on the Office of Financial Affairs website.  Your Cost of Attendance will include a budgeted amount that should cover the hours you plan to take in the academic year based on the published plan of study or the Graduate Nursing Projected Enrollment Form (as applicable).  Changes to your enrollment from whatever was used to determine you award will result in a required aid adjustment.

  1. Living in an off-campus home or apartment;

The calculated monthly living allowances are based on survey data from Rush University students as well as metropolitan-area data regarding average cost of living expenses.  Living allowances are provided for the student only.  Unfortunately, student loans are not meant to cover living expenses for other family members or dependents of the student.
