Financial Aid Application Checklist

Students interested in applying for financial assistance at Rush University should review the following aid application checklist. Aid applications must be renewed each academic year, and the application documents are updated annually. Please be sure you are completing the correct series of documents for the appropriate academic year (multiple application cycles may be open at any given time).

For continuing students and students starting in the fall, Rush University's priority deadline for applying is March 1 of each year. Aid will be available after that date, but certain funds may be exhausted and awards may be delayed for students who apply after March 1.
New students starting in a term other than fall should apply at least two months prior to their start date to allow time for processing.

Applicants to Rush University are encouraged to start the aid application process prior to hearing about a decision on their application for admission. An applicant's financial aid application will only be processed if they are formally admitted to an academic program.

All forms are available by clicking the Financial Aid Forms link for the appropriate academic year in the left-hand navigation of this site.

  1. Free Application for Federal Student Aid - Be sure to include Rush's school code (009800) in the school section of this document.
  2. Institutional Aid Application
  3. Parent Information Form - Required of dependent undergrads. Also required of GEM and medical students who wish to be considered for need-based discretionary funding through Rush.  In addition to this supplemental form, the parents' demographic and financial information must be entered in the parent section of the student's FAFSA for their information to be considered. The full parent information policy can be found here.
  4. Projected Enrollment Form - Beginning with the 2016-17 financial aid year, this form is required from all students except medical students, second and third year PA students, and biotechnology students. This document asks students to indicate their planned enrollment detail for the academic year. Please be as accurate as possible when completing this form since your aid award may change if your enrollment plans change.
Additional documents may be required in certain situations. Students will be contacted via email if this is the case.
The Office of Student Financial Aid will review your application for financial assistance once your file is complete and includes all requested documents. The student will receive an email when their award is ready directing them to the secure RUConnected Portal for next steps and to review the financial aid award. Students may need to complete additional paperwork based on the aid they accept. Details are included in the award information provided to the student.
