Dolores Wiens, M.Div., an ordained Episcopal priest, is Chaplain for the Department of Emergency Medicine. She is a board certified member of the Association of Professional Chaplains. The Rev. Wiens is active in the leadership of services provided by the department, such as the Quarterly Memorial Service. As an Instructor, she participates in the orientation of our students to the department and to some services. The Rev. Wiens is active in the Emergency Preparedness of our hospital in the event of Major Disaster or a Terrorist Attack. She chairs the psychosocial arm of the Emergency Preparedness Committee and has been instrumental in the development of a Comprehensive Psychosocial Plan for the Medical Center. In addition to her responsibilities at Rush, the Rev. Wiens serves on the City of Chicago Mental Health Committee for disaster preparation. She is also an active member of the Assembly of Healthcare Chaplains of the Episcopal Church and serves as Historian for this national organization.
