Patricia Murphy, Assistant Professor, has an M.A. in Spirituality and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Pastoral Counseling. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She teaches research and statistics as well as a course in introductory counseling. Dr. Murphy, whose research is in the area of religion/spirituality and health, has both published her work and has spoken nationally. She is also clinically involved providing pastoral counseling services in the medical center's psychiatric units. She received the annual award by the Commission on Ministry in Specialized Settings for her research into the relationship of religion and depression. She is a member of the Society of the Sacred Heart (rscj), an international community of women religious in the Roman Catholic Church. |
