The Department of Pharmacology is part of Rush Medical College and has both a teaching and research mission.

The department is committed to the teaching of Medical Pharmacology in the Medical College. The faculty also trains and mentors graduate students in The Division of Pharmacology's Graduate Program. In addition, faculty also participate in Graduate College Programs including the Masters of Science in Clinical Research and The Masters of Science in Biotechnology.

The Department is home to several research laboratories funded by investigator initiated grants from the National Institutes of Health.
