We are engaged in translational research related to two ovarian disorders: ovarian autoimmune disease and ovarian cancer.

Dr Luborsky developed novel anti-ovarian antibody tests.  These tests permitted study of ovarian autoimmunity in women with premature menopause and unexplained infertility.  The ovarian autoantibody tests are licensed to a diagnostic company.  In order to understand the pathology of ovarian autoimmunity and its relationship health risks such as osteoporosis and cancer, we are currently identifying the relevant antigens using proteomics.

Our research on the autoimmune disease of the ovary led us to investigate antibodies associated with ovarian cancer.  We are currently investigating anti-tumor antibodies as early markers of ovarian cancer, and immune mechanisms associated with ovarian cancer.
