All students will complete a research thesis that is designed to further dietetic practice. The master's thesis is a scholarly written report of independent, original research that makes a significant contribution to clinical practice. The research thesis is an exciting and unique opportunity that can further enhance and shape the future career of an student. Successful completion of the thesis demonstrates to the faculty that the candidate is capable of contributing to independent research.

Each student's thesis is directed by one of the senior faculty members of the Clinical Nutrition Department. Faculty members are actively engaged in many research activities. Take a look at the ongoing research studies by clinical nutrition faculty. MORE

Upon completion of their research thesis, students have the opportunity to publish in peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of the American Dietetic Association, Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition and American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Often, students have the opportunity to present their research thesis as a poster session at a national conference. The Rush University library binds and catalogs one copy of all theses.
