Welcome to your exploration of the Rush College of Nursing's research site! As you will soon learn from your visit, Rush nursing faculty are involved in exciting and varied research projects. One indicator of the extent of a College's research enterprise is its
funding history. In fiscal year 2005, the Rush College of Nursing received
over $2.2 million dollars in federal, state, and private funding. These
awards included research and research training grants. Although the National
Institute for Nursing Research (NINR) is an important source of funding,
the College of Nursing's faculty also receive support from other NIH Institutes.
In addition to these funding sources, researchers are supported by funds
from city and state governments as well as those from private sources
such as foundations. For potential doctoral students, this record of funding
means that ongoing research opportunities and a cadre of experienced,
motivated researchers are available to mentor those who wish to pursue
careers in science. Here are a few examples of College of Nursing funded
research projects: Discharge Planning and Telehealth for Post CABG Elders Investigator: Kleinpell, R., Moore, S., Avitall, B., Murray, M.E.
