MEET THE TEAM


Faculty and staff with diverse backgrounds contributed to the CAM Education Program for Nursing over the years of grant support. Those who currently play a key role in ongoing program implementation, refinement, and evaluation are listed below:

Angela Johnson, Dipl OM, MSTOM, LAc, MPH
Angela is Program Manager and a nationally board certified practitioner of Oriental Medicine practicing via the Cancer Integrative Medicine Program at Rush University Medical Center; and Project Assistant in the Rush University College of Nursing. Joyce Keithley, DNSc, RN, FAAN
Dr. Keithley is Professor, Department of Adult Health Nursing, Rush University College of Nursing in Chicago. Her research interests include dietary supplements, HIV infection, and obesity. She is currently involved in studies examining the effects of a dietary supplement on HIV-related dyslipidemia and mindfulness training in reducing nurse errors. Email:Joyce_K_Keithley@rush.edu

Rose Suhayda, PhD, APRN
Dr. Suhayda is Director of University Assessment and Student Learning, Rush University and the Director of Evaluation, Rush University College of Nursing. Here interests are in evaluating program and project effectiveness. Email: Rosemarie_Suhayda@rush.edu

Barbara Swanson, PhD, RN
Dr. Swanson is Associate Professor of Adult Health Nursing, Rush University College of Nursing in Chicago. Her research interests include dietary supplements to manage HIV-related dyslipidemia and obesity, and the use of mindfulness meditation to sustain weight loss in obese persons.

Janice Zeller, PhD, RN, FAAN
Dr. Zeller is Professor of Adult Health Nursing and Associate Professor of Immunology/Microbiology, Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Her research interests include psychoneuroimmunology in relation to health and well-being, and mindfulness meditation for weight loss and to reduce nurse errors in simulated clinical scenarios.
