Faculty/Staff Description:
Dr. Lint's major activity is in teaching. He is the Course Director for Basic Immunology, presented to first-year medical students; Clinical Immunology, taught to second-year medical students; and Microbiology Concepts, also presented to medical students in the second year. He is the past Program Director for the Graduate Program in Immunology and Virology (1987-2000), and is Course Director for the Graduate College course in Research Ethics, given each winter quarter. In the summer, Dr. Lint directs remedial Medical Immunology and Microbiology courses for students who come from all over North America and Europe. Dr. Lint was elected to the Mark Lepper Society of teachers (1991), and was recipient of the Daniel Brainard Award for basic science teaching in Rush Medical College (2004), the Golden Apple Award from the Student American Medical Association (2001), and the Outstanding Teaching Award from Rush University Graduate College (1990).

Dr. Lint's research has focused on the complement system and innate immune mechanisms in host defense. He has published over 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals, and written over 20 reviews and book chapters on these topics.
