Verification You will know whether or not you are selected for verification if one of the comments on your Student Aid Report (SAR) contains the following: "Your application has been selected for a review in a process called Verification. You must submit to your school signed copies of certain financial documents." The selection was either random, or there were data elements that were inconsistent with pre-established paramaters. In either case, you must provide specific documents to the financial aid office prior to having federal aid processed. Please submit the requested information as soon as possible for an award letter determination. It may be necessary for the aid office to resubmit revised data for processing, in which case you will receive another SAR. The documents must be submitted prior to receiving an award letter, but may be provided anytime throughout the year. However, the requested documents must be provided no later than 30 days prior to the end of the last quarter in the year. In addition, you will be sent a letter from our office restating that you are selected and it will list the specific documents that must be provided to us, as well as the appropriate verification form for completion. The following documents are required, and others may be requested, in a letter sent (to accepted and returning students) shortly after the results of your FAFSA is received.
