The
primary document is the FAFSA, which determines
the amount of resources you and/or your family have (has) available to
contribute to the cost of education. Remember that parent data
must be submitted on both the FAFSA and on the Institutional Application
for Financial Aid to be considered for institutional grants and
loans - see individual college programs for further information.
For aid
purposes, the academic year comprises summer, fall, winter and
spring quarters. Use the chart below to file the correct FAFSA
(and institutional application) according to the quarters for which
aid is requested.

Complete the FAFSA or Renewal application by using your PIN
at the federal web site and following the instructions (www.fafsa.ed.gov).
You can determine if you have a PIN at www.pin.ed.gov/.
- Use complete and accurate information. Figures should be taken
directly from the completed tax forms; however, if extensions
are requested in filing late tax returns, complete the FAFSA
using estimated amounts. Undergraduate students must submit
the FAFSA by the date listed on the front of the FAFSA to receive
maximum eligibility for Illinois State Scholarship funds even
if using estimated amounts.
- The code for Rush University is 009800 and must be
entered on your application.
- Parent data must be entered on the FAFSA or Renewal
Application if you are applying for institutional funds and you have never supplied it before.
- Please read all instructions carefully, and be sure to review your Student Aid Report (SAR) when your application has been processed.
Regardless of whether you will be supplying parent information or not, all students must submit the Institutional Aid Application each and every year that they wish to apply for financial assistance.
- All RMC applicants are required to download, print, read and
submit this form. It is important to be able to obtain a credit
based loan, if necessary. Read about this further here;
download the Credit Policy Statement from the Forms
Page.
- Did you ever receive a Federal Nursing Loan at any previous
college or university you attended prior to Rush? If so, then
you must request a Financial
Aid Transcript from that college/university. Enter
the name(s) of that college on the Institutional Application.
- Eligibility is limited to licensed graduate nursing students
taking 9 hours or more per quarter (9 hours is considered full-time
for graduate nursing students; 4.5 hours is half-time); however,
support for part-time and Post-MSN students is limited to those
in their final four quarters prior to degree completion.
- Each appointment must be for a minimum of 9 months, except
to assist a student to complete the required program (i.e.,
the last year prior to graduation).
- Nurse Anesthesia students are eligible prior to their residency year.
- Priority given to students who commit to providing primary
care services to undeserved areas and/or minority populations
during clinical training and after graduation Advanced
Education Nursing (AEN) Traineeship.
- No additional forms are needed if you only want consideration
for AEN assistance.
- Only courses taken at Rush University are counted toward eligibility.
You may be selected for verification and additional
information will be requested by the Financial Aid office prior
to determining a final award offer. This may include, but is not
limited to, the following items.
- A signed copy of federal income tax return from you and/or
your parents (including W-2 statements).
- A signed statement verifying your taxable income if you did
not file a return.
- A detailed summary of your and/or your parents' assets, including
all liquid and non-liquid resources.
