The Graduate College: Institutional Policy for Parent Information

Parent Information

Parent information is not required to determine eligibility for federal loan assistance.

Graduate College education debt

Few students borrow to attend The Graduate College. Since students receive a quarterly stipend in addition to the tuition waiver (as per terms of the acceptance letter), the need for additional funding is minimal.

Program Notes

The quarterly stipend request is initiated by each department. The Financial Affairs office of Rush University reviews the stipend request and subtracts from that total the quarterly insurance fee (if required) and the quarterly rent charge (if living in a Center Court apartment). It is returned to the department which then submits it to the Finance office of Rush University Medical Center to generate and send the check. Questions about the quarterly stipend check are to be directed to the department.
