Parent
information is not required to determine
eligibility for federal loan assistance, however, students enrolled in a master's program within The Graduate College must submit parental data to be considered for discretionary institutional funding.
Few
students in non-nursing research programs borrow to attend The Graduate College. Students in non-nursing research programs generally receive a quarterly stipend in addition to
the tuition waiver (as per terms of the acceptance
letter), and the need for additional funding is minimal.
Stipends are generally awarded to research students (non-nursing), as noted in the letter of acceptance. If a stipend is awarded, the
quarterly stipend request is initiated by each department.
The Financial Affairs office of Rush University reviews
the stipend request and subtracts from that total
the quarterly insurance fee (if required) and the
quarterly rent charge (if living in a Center Court
apartment). It is returned to the department which
then submits it to the Finance office of Rush University
Medical Center to generate and send the check. Questions
about the quarterly stipend check are to be directed
to the department.
Students in master's or nursing programs are not awarded stipends.
