The majority of students
will find it necessary to borrow funds to help meet the cost of education.
Even though most would rather not think about their loan debt until after
graduation, concerns about the ability to make loan repayments may create
anxiety while in school. To help students get a better understanding of
these loan obligations and to calculate loan repayments, go to www.finaid.org
(an excellent resource for any aid question).
Those who may be faced with an excessive indebtedness need to consider their alternatives to avert potential
financial difficulty.
The majority of students at Rush University receive loans
in their financial aid packages. Differences in tuition, costs, available grants and loans vary for each college. However, for programs
other than graduate nursing and The Graduate College, 80% of students receive some sort of loan assistance.
Loan packages vary by university program, but students are awarded the maximum Federal Stafford Subsidized loan
when possible.
The following summarizes the average educational debt incurred by students
graduating in 2007 who borrowed while attending Rush.
