Looking for Hearing Impaired and Normal
Hearing People Age 60 years
and over at Rush University Medical Center
Hearing impaired and normal hearing
people who are 60 years of age and over are wanted to take part in a study
investigating how well people can understand speech in background
noise. Participants will listen to speech as well as to other sounds
and will be asked to repeat words that they hear or tell the difference
between sounds. Participants in the experiment will be tested in a
single one and a half hour session. This project is designed to
provide information that will be used to develop new tests for diagnosing
hearing impairments and improving hearing aids.
Participants will
receive a free hearing evaluation, compensation of
$20.00 and free parking*.
(*Participants who take public transportation
will be provided with the monetary equivalent to the parking
pass.)
