Looking for Hearing Impaired and Normal Hearing People
Age 60 years and over at Rush University Medical Center

Hearing impaired and normal hearing people who are 60 years of age and over are wanted to take part in a study investigating how well people can understand speech in background noise.  Participants will listen to speech as well as to other sounds and will be asked to repeat words that they hear or tell the difference between sounds.  Participants in the experiment will be tested in a single one and a half hour session.  This project is designed to provide information that will be used to develop new tests for diagnosing hearing impairments and improving hearing aids.

Participants will receive a free hearing evaluation, compensation of $20.00 and free parking*.

(*Participants who take public transportation will be provided with the monetary equivalent to the parking pass.)

If interested, call (312) 942-3316, or e-mail valeriy_shafiro@rush.edu.
