Cochlear Implant Patients wanted for Auditory Training
at Rush University Medical Center

Cochlear implant patients are wanted to take part in a study investigating the effects of training on the perception of speech and common environmental sounds.  Participants will listen to various sounds including speech, environmental sounds, as well as tones and noises, and will be asked to describe or name these sounds.  Participants in the experiment will be tested in five one-hour sessions.  This project is designed to provide information that will be used to develop a rehabilitative method for improving communication abilities and environmental sound awareness of cochlear implant listeners.

Participants will receive a financial compensation of $150.00 and free parking*.

(*Participants who take public transportation will be provided with the monetary equivalent to the parking pass.)

If interested, call (312) 942-3316, or e-mail valeriy_shafiro@rush.edu.
